Our History

G & K Akers Contracting was established in 2002 by Managing Director, Geoff Akers, to provide civil construction, excavation and mining services to clients throughout northern Australia.

Geoff gained extensive experience in the management of major civil and mining projects in his former role as Managing Director of Howard Springs Earthmoving.

Initially started with a handful of employees, an excavator and a few trucks, G & K Akers Contracting has grown rapidly and now employs in excess of 130 people, operates 9 Hitachi excavators, has a fleet of over 25 Caterpillar haul trucks as well as dozers, rollers, loaders, water trucks and other ancillary equipment.

Since establishing G & K Akers Contracting, Geoff Akers along with a team of experienced and competent Project Managers formed strong ongoing partnerships with major mining companies in the Territory and continues to seek company growth by establishing long term client relationships.
