 At G & K Akers
Contracting, our people are our most valuable asset. We seek out the most highly
skilled people to become part of our team and this skilled workforce is
supplemented by the training of new recruits.
We primarily employ Territorians, so we have a financial commitment to the
region. We presently employ people from Darwin, Palmerston, Katherine, Alice
Springs, Jabiru, Tenant Creek as well as several remote communities.
Over 130 people are
presently employed by G & K Akers Contracting in the following roles:
- Mobile Equipment Operators
- Mechanical Fitters
- Project Managers
- Supervisors
- Surveyors

- Safety Co-ordinators

New recruits at G & K
Akers Contracting are given extensive company and site inductions prior to
beginning work. Existing operational knowledge and capability is assessed by
qualified trainers, and if a deficiency is identified, a detailed training plan
is established and implemented to ensure the employee is trained to the high
standards demanded by G & K Akers Contracting. |
