G & K Akers Contracting, developing positive working relationships with local
people and organisations is a key focus.
In many cases we operate in
remote areas where local people have had limited access to training
opportunities or full time employment. We believe we can make a difference in
these situations through actively working with local communities to develop
training and employment opportunities as well as encouraging understanding of
local indigenous culture among our broader workforce.
At G & K Akers Contracting
over 10% of our employees are of indigenous descent and we are continually
seeking to assist with local communities through the following initiatives:
